I have always wanted to sit outside and enjoy the views over our lake with family and friends. In England, this is not always possible because of our changeable weather conditions.
Initially, I approached two national companies for quotations. I felt that The Glass Room Company was very competitive on price and, most importantly, that they offered the best all-round service. Their designer came to my home and we discussed all aspects of the plans. They gave me good advice and helped me with decisions on the finer details.
I also have to commend the fitters on their attention to detail, great work ethic and their consideration. The way in which they carried out the installation and then cleaned the room and surrounding area at the end of the building work was very professional and showed their quality as a company.
As soon as we arrived at the client’s home it was obvious that the sharp, simplistic lines of our Glass Room designs were perfect for her. A Glass Room would not detract from the picturesque environment in which she lived.
Using the frameless sliding door system provided shelter from the rain and wind, but did not obscure the views of the lake which was very important to the client.
We also carried out repairs to the existing patio paving to make it secure and safe for years to come. This paving was used as the floor for the Glass Room to keep continuity with the rest of the garden.
The finished Glass Room is exactly as our client and designer had planned and the modular design of this outdoor living space means that any additional features can be easily added on in the future.
Martyn, from 'The Outdoor living group' has been fantastic in providing us with the most wonderful veranda with a glass roof and sunshade. It arrived as arranged on 17th March 2020. We were fortunate as this was just before 'lockdown' and we have used it everyday since then to eat outside in this wonderful weather. It helps to keep the wind out and feels warmer than just sitting out. The sunshade has been great on those warmer days. I would definitely recommend the company to you.
We had our glass veranda with electric sunshades installed in May 2021 by The Outdoor Living Group and we are absolutely delighted with it! Martyn and his team were great. The whole process was seamlessly organised and we were kept informed from beginning to end. We were particularly impressed with the extremely comprehensive and detailed site visit and this helped to reassure us that we were making the right decision and that the project would be a success.
Our finished glass room has exceeded all our expectations. Martyn’s advice and suggestions about colours and style proved to be spot on and so in keeping with our house. His attention to detail ensured the team we had already hired to do our landscaping and patio knew exactly what they had to do, avoiding any problems later. The installers were extremely professional, skilled and polite and completed the job so efficiently. Due to Covid related supply issues there one or two very slight pr...
Very happy with Martyn and his team. From the initial consultation and competitive quote to completion was a refreshingly pleasant experience. Martyn came up with a couple of ideas that made a difference to our first plans, and we are very pleased with the result, giving us a room we use all year round. Installation team were very easy to deal with and took pride in their workmanship.
Each and every one of our glass roof verandas is tailored to your needs. Our certified surveyor will come to your home to take measurements of your property and talk with you about your needs in order to help us develop an estimate that is personalised for you. The survey is free and will provide our staff with the details they need to create a design and provide you a free quote.
We can't give you an accurate estimate without talking to you because each of our verandas is created to order to meet your unique needs. However, fully installed verandas start at £7,000.It's doubtful that a patio veranda will require planning permission.
Only if you intended to add a patio veranda that took up more than half of your home's ground floor would you require planning permission. Our surveyor will be able to talk with you about this during the site survey if you have any concerns that your patio veranda may be greater than the permitted dimensions. Because the patio veranda is usually always smaller than half the ground floor space of the property, you almost never need planning permission for one. Our staff would assist you in applying if you did require planning permission for your patio veranda as part of the survey and design phase.
